About Us

In-Home Care

Our pet care service includes the individual care and attention your pet needs. This means grooming, playtime, exercise and as many smooches as possible!  Keeping your home clean is always a top priority, so litter boxes are meticulously maintained and other messes are thoroughly cleaned!


We take care of your home while you're away too! No need to postpone the mail or newspaper-we’ll collect those for you every day! The trash and recycling are taken care of, as are the lighting and window treatments. Did we mention we water and talk to the plants too?

The Paws at Home team always loves meeting new fur friends! We thank you for the opportunity to care for one of the most important members of the family when you’re away! Before you go, we do need to meet the family and have you meet us!

We ask new clients to schedule reservations a minimum of one week prior to the start of needed service and plan to schedule a free, in-home consultation with us to learn your pet’s routine and review the required paperwork. We also need to get a house key from you!


*Paws at Home does not offer overnight boarding in a client's home.

About Us

Robyn considers herself a Gainesville native, having moved here when she was 4-years old. She attended all local schools and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Florida. As a graduation gift, her parents gave her two Golden Retreiver mix puppies and that’s when she discovered her true passion in life-pets! She worked four years for a local veterinarian where she not only learned about the dedication of Gainesville’s pet owners, but also about the true joy they share in the bond with their pet! For more than 25 years, Robyn has cared for the pets of family, friends and co-workers!


She is a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.

Policies and FAQs

Policies

Please read the policies set by Paws at Home. These policies are in place for the safety and well-being of your pet as well as our staff. Client information is kept private and confidential.


  • Please advise us if your pet(s) has(have) a history of biting or aggression toward either humans or other animals.
  • Please provide the contact information for your veterinarian. You will be asked to sign a release authorizing medical care for your pets in your absence in an emergency.
  • All animals in the home will be in our care. “No animal left behind!”
  • Paws at Home does not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise, which results in injury to the client’s animals. Additionally, if a Paws at Home employee is injured or harmed by the client’s animals, the client/owner accepts full responsibility for the cost of any necessary medical attention required by either the Paws at Home employee or by the animals.
  • We do not walk multiple dogs together unless the owner requests otherwise and the dogs are accustomed to walking together.
  • We do not allow dogs off-leash for any reason unless they are in their fenced yard. If an invisible fence system is in use, we must have a guarantee that it is functioning. Paws at Home does not accept responsibility for any animals that escape or become lost or injured when instructed to leave the pet(s) in a fenced in area.
  • Please indicate where waste may be disposed.
  • Paws at Home will clean up any messes in your house left by your pets once they are in our care. We are not responsible for messes left prior to our visit. We request that you inform us of the location(s) of any necessary cleaning supplies.
  • Due to possible power outages or garage door malfunctions a house key is required.
  • We must be advised of anyone who may also have access to your home. If we arrive and find anything out of place or find a stranger in or around your home, we will call the police first and ask questions later!!
  • Paws at Home in-home pet care services are offered 7 days a week from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Additional time may be negotiated.If a client specifies a time for Paws at Home to visit time their home, we will do our best to meet the time request. However, please understand that we are caring for multiple pets and may need to adjust the requested schedule to accommodate all pets that day.
  • We require a minimum of 72 hours of prior notice for sitting reservations for established clients and one full week prior for new clients as an in-home consultation must be completed. However, we will always try to do our best to accommodate your requests for service.
  • Client will be billed 50% of total service cost for reservations cancelled in less than 48 hours prior to start of reservation.
  • Payment is due when reservations are scheduled. Our preferred payment method is Paypal.
  • Paws at Home charges a $35 fee for any returned checks.

FAQs

  • What kind of pets do you care for? Dogs, cats, birds, fish, small crated/caged animals.
  • What areas do you service? Currently only the cities within Alachua County.
  • What is the purpose of the in-home consultation? The purpose of the initial in-home consultation is to allow us time to get know you and your pets and for you to get to know us. Additionally, all paperwork, detailed pet/home care instructions and the key transfer can be completed!
  • Who will be caring for my pets and my household? Only Paws at Home employees.
  • Can I make last minute arrangements for pet care? We require a minimum of 72 hours of prior notice for sitting reservations for established clients. However, we will always try to do our best to accommodate your requests for service.
  • Can I make arrangements for overnight pet care? We do not offer overnight pet care.

A free 30-minute consultation to discuss the needs of your pet(s) is required prior to our first visit. These consultations are only available on Saturdays. Reservations for new clients must be made a minimum of seven days prior to start. Please complete the forms in the "client forms" section of our site prior to the consultation. Thank you!
